North Penn Valley Boys & Girls Club
Please note this is the first Saturday of November.
Rachel will lead us in a conversation about the impact one safe place and a few caring adults can have on the life of a child.
Rachel’s connection to the Boys & Girls Club is both professional and deeply personal. Today, she is not only the Director of the North Penn Valley Boys & Girls Club, but also a Club mom whose own children have grown up participating in its programs. Through her personal story and the work happening at the Club today, Rachel will share why she believes that the circumstances we’re born into or the challenges we face may shape our story, but they don’t have to define where that story takes us. Light Refreshments will be served. All women are welcome.
The women of St. John’s have generously provided Christmas Stockings for Norristown State Hospital for at least 35 years. Thank you for your support of this program over these many years. Due to the changes in programming, NSH is no longer accepting Christmas stockings but has provided a specific list of needed items for the residents. There is a greater need for male items than female items due to the disparity in the population, (average census-male, 274/female, 68)
If you have already purchased personal care items in preparation for the stockings, please bring them to the retreat. We will have a box to put them in and will donate them to a different program.
Listed below are the requested items that we will be gathering at our November retreat. Please feel free to bring anything from this list, we will sort like items into packaging that will be delivered to NHS in early December.
